Tips for choosing your accommodation

Stay in the centre for the market
If your goal is the Saturday market (7:30am–1:30pm, Place aux Herbes), stay in the historic centre or within walking distance. You'll be up early and won't need a car.
Choose a gîte for families
A private holiday rental with a pool is the best option for families with children — more space, independence, and usually better value than hotel rooms.
B&Bs for the local experience
Chambres d'hôtes (B&Bs) in the garrigue give you the most authentic experience: homemade breakfast, local tips from your host, and the quiet countryside at night.
Book as early as possible in summer
Good accommodation near Uzès books out fast for July and August. Many B&Bs and gîtes are reserved 3–6 months in advance.

Frequently asked questions

When should I book accommodation in Uzès?
July and August are peak season — book at least 2–3 months ahead for the best options. Spring and autumn are increasingly popular too. Outside high season, last-minute is often possible but the best places still fill quickly.
Is it better to stay in the centre or in the countryside?
In the centre: walk to everything — market, restaurants, sights. In the countryside: space, privacy, a pool, and the authentic Provençal atmosphere. Both are excellent; choose based on whether you prefer convenience or immersion.
Is there a 5-star hotel in Uzès?
Yes — La Maison d'Uzès is Uzès' only 5-star property. It combines a Michelin-starred restaurant with luxurious rooms in a 17th-century manor house. Expect to pay from €350/night.
Are there campsites near Uzès?
Yes — Camping Le Mas de Rey is right on the outskirts of Uzès. Camping La Sousta is at the foot of the Pont du Gard (20 min). Camping Le Barralet is by the Gardon river in Collias (15 min), perfect for canoeing.
Can I find pet-friendly accommodation in Uzès?
Many B&Bs and holiday rentals in the Uzès area are dog-friendly — the region in general is very pet-friendly. Always confirm when booking. Town centre hotels are more variable.
